City Council Decision
City Council on December 17 and 18, 2019, adopted the following:
1. City Council rescind the existing parking prohibition in effect from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, except public holidays, on the east side of Oakwood Avenue, between a point 55.4 metres north of St. Clair Avenue West and Earlsdale Avenue.
2. City Council rescind the existing parking prohibition in effect from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., Monday to Friday, except public holidays, on the west side of Oakwood Avenue, between a point 55.4 metres north of St. Clair Avenue West and a point 47 metres south of Earlsdale Avenue.
3. City Council amend the existing maximum one-hour parking regulation in effect from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, on the east side of Oakwood Avenue, between a point 55.4 metres north of St. Clair Avenue West and Earlsdale Avenue, to be in effect from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
4. City Council amend the existing maximum one-hour parking regulation in effect from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, on the west side of Oakwood Avenue, between a point 55.4 metres north of St. Clair Avenue West and a point 47 metres south of Earlsdale Avenue, to be in effect from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Community Council Recommendations
The Toronto and East York Community Council recommends that:
1. City Council rescind the existing parking prohibition in effect from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, except public holidays, on the east side of Oakwood Avenue, between a point 55.4 metres north of St. Clair Avenue West and Earlsdale Avenue.
2. City Council rescind the existing parking prohibition in effect from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., Monday to Friday, except public holidays, on the west side of Oakwood Avenue, between a point 55.4 metres north of St. Clair Avenue West and a point 47 metres south of Earlsdale Avenue.
3. Summary
I received a petition from residents on Oakwood Avenue, between Earlsdale Avenue and Earnscliffe Road, requesting that both the 'no parking' 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. on the west side of Oakwood Avenue (Earlsdale Avenue to Earnscliffe Road) and the 'no parking' 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the east side of Oakwood (Earlsdale Avenue to Earnscliffe Road) be cancelled. Residents are asking for this change because unlike other major thoroughfares across the City, these 'no parking' rules are not in place to allow for an additional traffic lane during rush hours. In other words, these parking prohibitions force them to move their cars during the prohibited parking times for no reason. The purpose of this motion is to rescind these 'no parking' regulations as requested by residents in their petition.
