Community Council Decision

The Toronto and East York Community Council:

 

1.  Requested the Acting Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services to immediately form a monthly working group with membership to include Traffic Operations staff from Transportation Services, the Toronto Transit Commission, the Bloor East Neighbourhood Association, the Upper Jarvis Neighbourhood Association, Medallion Developments and their traffic consultants for 545-601 Sherbourne Street and 3-7 Howard Street, Concert Properties and their traffic consultants for 6-16 Glen Road, 4, 6, 58-64, 76 and 100 Howard Street and 603-611 Sherbourne Street, Tricon Capital Group with 592 Sherbourne Street and any additional stakeholders as required to review pedestrian and traffic safety on Sherbourne Street between Bloor Street East and Howard Street, and to report back with changes to improve pedestrian safety to the June 9, 2020 meeting of Toronto and East York Community Council.

Summary

At its meeting on July 16, 17 and 18, 2019, City Council directed Transportation Services to review pedestrian and traffic safety on Sherbourne Street, between Bloor Street East and Howard Street.  This report provides an overview of the safety review for the requested proposals undertaken by Transportation Services.
