15 - Don Valley West

Community Council Decision

North York Community Council:

1. Reduced the speed limit from 50km/h to 40km/h on Fenn Avenue, between York Mills Road and the south end of Fenn Avenue.

Origin

(January 3, 2019) Memo from Councillor Jaye Robinson

Summary

A number of residents on Fenn Avenue have contacted me to share their concerns about speed and volume issues on their street. Residents regularly observe motorists turning southbound onto Fenn Avenue from York Mills Road to avoid congestion at the intersection of Bayview Avenue and York Mills Road. These drivers are often travelling at high speeds in an attempt to make-up time after re-routing from York Mills Road.

Fenn Avenue is a residential street with many families and children walking to and from the nearby Owen Park and Owen Public School.
