City Council Decision
City Council on June 18 and 19, 2019, adopted the following:
1. City Council request the General Manager, Transportation Services to report to the Infrastructure and Environment Committee in the fourth quarter of 2019, on the Province's intentions regarding increasing speeds on the 400 series highways, specifically with respect to what impact this would have on:
a. residential streets that are near arterials connected to the freeway; and
b. road safety on those neighboring streets as a result of the increased speeds.

Increasing Speeds on the 400 Series Highways
Reason for Urgency:
This Motion is urgent because of the imminent impact that increased speeds proposed by the Province on 400 series highways might have on the safety of our local residential streets and neighbourhoods.
