City Council Decision
City Council on December 17 and 18, 2019, adopted the following:
1. City Council request the City Manager and the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer to report on the feasibility and implications of amending the City's Tax, Water and Solid Waste Relief Programs, by amending the eligibility requirements to ensure that low-income residents who otherwise meet the eligibility criteria are not disqualified in cases where a co-owner is listed on title of the property but does not reside at the property.
2. City Council request the City Manager and the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer to report back on their findings in Part 1 above in the first quarter of 2020.
3. City Council request the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer to report on the financial and other implications of increasing the current maximum household income thresholds that establish eligibility for the property tax increase cancellation and deferral programs, and the water and solid waste rebate program.
