Origin
Summary
The purpose of this letter is to seek approval to authorize the General Manager, Transportation Services, to temporarily close the Don Valley Parkway (DVP) ramps at Eglinton Avenue East for a period of up to four weekends between June 20, 2019 to December 31, 2019 to facilitate the installation of electrical infrastructure and roadway paving for the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit project.
The annual DVP spring maintenance closure is planned on May 25-27, 2019. Crosslinx Transit Solutions (CTS) is planning to utilize the City maintenance closure to perform the work, thus avoiding the need for an additional weekend closure of the DVP ramps. However, in the event of cancellation of the City maintenance closure, or inclement weather, additional closure of the ramps will be required to accomplish the work.
