Committee Decision

The Infrastructure and Environment Committee:

 

1.  In accordance with Section 195-8.4A of the Toronto Municipal Code Chapter 195 (Purchasing By-Law), granted authority to award Contract No. 19ECS-TI-13LR, Tender Call No. 321-2018, for local road resurfacing in wards 1 through 12, 14 and 15, in the amount of $24,520,877 net of all taxes ($24,952,444 net of HST recoveries) to Sanscon Construction Ltd., having submitted the lowest compliant bid and meeting the specifications in conformance with the Tender requirements.

 

2.  In accordance with Section 195-8.4A of Toronto Municipal Code Chapter 195 (Purchasing By-Law), granted authority to award Contract No. 19ECS-TI-14LR, Tender Call 322-2018, for local road resurfacing in wards 16, 17 and 19 through 25, in the amount of $24,854,645 net of all taxes ($25,292,087 net of HST recoveries) to D. Crupi and Sons Limited, having submitted the lowest compliant bid and meeting the specifications in conformance with the Tender requirements. 

 

3.  Requested the General Manager, Transportation Services to report to the Infrastructure and Environment Committee by the end of the third quarter of 2019 on a plan to reduce the road resurfacing backlog on local, collector and arterial roads.

 

4.  Requested the Chief Engineer and Executive Director, Engineering and Construction Services and the Chief Purchasing Officer to review the two year road work guarantee with the potential for lengthening the guarantee and report back by the fourth quarter of 2019.

Summary

The purpose of this report is to: (1) advise of the results of Tender Call No. 321-2018, Contract No. 19ECS-TI-13LR, for local road resurfacing in wards 1 through 12, 14 and 15 and request authority to award the contract to Sanscon Construction Ltd., in the amount of $24,520,877 net of all applicable taxes and charges ($24,952,444 net of HST recoveries); and, (2) advise of the results of Tender Call No. 322-2018, Contract No. 19ECS-TI-14LR, for local road resurfacing in wards 16, 17 and 19 through 25 and request authority to award the contract to D.
