The Infrastructure and Environment Committee:

1. Requested the General Manager, Fleet Services to provide a report to the appropriate Standing Committee on the life cycle costs and environmental impacts of gas, electric and diesel vehicles needed by city divisions.

The following gave a presentation on Evaluation of the Impact of Using Biodiesel and Renewable Diesel to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions in City of Toronto’s Fleet Vehicles:

This report responds to the City Council direction (April 24, 2018), that the General Manager of Fleet Services Division (FSD) report to the Infrastructure and Environment Committee (formerly Parks and Environment Committee) with recommendations on the plan for the City to move forward with a comprehensive biodiesel strategy.

The purpose of this report is to provide an update to the Infrastructure and Environment Committee on the steps being taken to assess the feasibility of expanded bio-based diesel use in the City's Fleet operations.
