Committee Decision

The Board of Health Budget Committee recommends that:

 

1.  The Board of Health request the Medical Officer of Health to report to the Board of Health Budget Committee at its meeting on September 27, 2019 on the following:

 

a.  options for savings in Toronto Public Health's 2020 Budget that do not negatively impact the health status of Torontonians; and

 

b.  revenue options.

 

2.  The Board of Health direct that the confidential information contained in Confidential Attachment 1 to the presentation (June 27, 2019) from the Medical Officer of Health remain confidential in its entirely, as it relates to personal matters about identifiable individuals, including municipal or local board employees, and labour relations or employee negotiations.

Decision Advice and Other Information

The Board of Health Budget Committee:

 

1.  Requested the Medical Officer of Health to collaborate with the Association of Local Public Health Agencies and the Council of Ontario Medical Officers of Health to develop an alternative proposal for the restructuring of public health in Ontario and to report to the Board of Health at its meeting on July 8, 2019 with an update on these conversations.

 

The Medical Officer of Health gave a presentation on Impact of Provincial Budget Announcement.

 

The Board of Health Budget Committee recessed its public session to meet in closed session to consider this item, as it relates to personal matters about identifiable individuals, including municipal or local board employees, and labour relations or employee negotiations.

Summary

The Medical Officer of Health and the Director, Finance and Administration, Toronto Public Health, will give a presentation on Impact of Provincial Budget Announcement.
