1. Requested the Deputy City Clerk to report to the November 1, 2019 meeting of the Special Committee on Governance on:
a. the number of public appointments debated by City Council in the 2018-2022 and 2014-2018 terms.
b. further detail on member motions.

The Deputy City Clerk gave a presentation on Meeting Statistics.
Summary
The purpose of the presentation is to provide the committee with an overview of the impacts of a 26-member Council on meetings of Council and committees, including number of meetings, number and disposition of agenda items, meeting duration and public participation. The presentation will cover the first seven months of the term, from the first meeting of Council in December to the last Council cycle before the summer break. Some of the measures will be compared against the same period in the preceding two terms.
