GL4.14 - Evaluation of the Use of Cargo Bikes in City Operations

City Council Decision
City Council on May 14 and 15, 2019, adopted the following:
1. City Council authorize the General Manager, Fleet Services and the General Manager, Parks, Forestry and Recreation to implement and evaluate the use of cargo bikes in Parks, Forestry and Recreation's operations.
2. City Council request the General Manager, Fleet Services and the General Manager, Parks, Forestry and Recreation, in consultation with and with the agreement of Locals 79 and 416, to consider:
a. the possibility of waiving the required Can-Bike training program for the purposes of the pilot project, provided the bicycles are not used on public roads; and
b. the possibility of working with the required City Divisions to shorten the current Can-Bike training program to one-half day, similar to the City's G-Permit program for operating a motor vehicle.
