Summary

This staff report is about a matter that Community Council has delegated authority to make a final decision provided that it is not amended so that it varies with City policy or by-laws.

 

The purpose of this report is to seek Council approval for a temporary traffic by-law amendment on York Gate Boulevard at Finch Avenue West to permit southbound through traffic movements for a 3 month (May 1, 2019 to July 31, 2019) pilot project. Additionally, the pilot project includes removal of the westbound left-turn movement at the intersection of York Gate Boulevard/Elana Drive and Finch Avenue West. Matters related to removal of the westbound left-turn movement will be discussed in 45 a companion report "Finch West Light Rail Transit – Temporary Traffic Regulation Amendments – Finch Avenue West at Elana Drive" requiring City Council approval.

 

The pilot project is in response to the future infrastructure upgrades at the intersection of York Gate Boulevard/Elana Drive and Finch Avenue West to accommodate the Finch West Light Rail Transit service and access to the planned maintenance and service facility.
