Etobicoke York Community Council:

1.  Directed the Chief Planner and Executive Director, City Planning, to review the existing permissions for residential uses in the surrounding area of Westhampton Drive and report back on the findings.

Recently an application was brought to Committee of Adjustment to build a triplex at 54 Westhampton Drive. The application was refused at Committee due to the size and scope of the minor variance requests and has been appealed to the Toronto Local Appeal Body. 

All of the homes on Westhampton Drive and the surrounding local streets are detached dwellings. Through this process, it was brought to my attention that the current zoning on Westhampton Drive, (RM (u3)(x18)), permits both duplex and triplex dwellings. All of the local streets surrounding Westhampton Drive are zoned (RD (f13.5; a510; d0.45)) which would only permit detached dwellings. 

Local residents are concerned about the possibility of a change to the existing character of the neighbourhood and have requested a review of the zoning for their street and surrounding area. 

I would ask that you support the recommendation below which would direct the Chief Planner to review existing permissions for residential uses and report back with their findings.
