City Council on January 30 and 31, 2019, adopted the following:

1.  City Council ratify the appointment of Brian Johnston to the position of Chief Executive Officer, CreateTO, subject to an agreement of employment terms.

2.  City Council authorize the public release of Brian Johnston's candidate summary once employment terms are agreed, and City Council direct that the balance of Confidential Attachment 1 to the report (January 7, 2019) from the Chair, Board of Directors of CreateTO remain confidential as it contains personal information about an identifiable individual.

The final candidate is Brian Johnston.

Mr. Johnston is a CA/CPA with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto.

He has extensive experience in the real estate industry, spending the last six years as the Chief Operating Officer at Mattamy Homes, responsible for operation of the company's Canadian and US homebuilding operations.

Prior to that, Mr. Johnston was President, Monarch Corporation and was responsible for all aspects of the company's Canadian operations.

During the course of his extensive career, Mr. Johnston has been affiliated with a number of real estate and other organizations and boards, and has significant experience in both corporate and public sector governance.

Mr. Johnston served on the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation Board, a Crown Corporation, for over eight years as Director.

The balance of Confidential Attachment 1 to the report (January 7, 2019) from the Chair, Board of Directors of CreateTO remains confidential in accordance with the provisions of the City of Toronto Act, 2006, as it contains personal information about an identifiable individual.
