City Council Decision

City Council on March 26 and 27, 2018, adopted the following:

 

 1.  City Council appoint Giuliana Carbone, effective April 4, 2018, as the Interim City Manager for the City of Toronto, reporting to Council, with all the powers and duties imposed upon the City Manager by Municipal Code Chapter 169, Officials, and as chief administrative officer under Section 140 of the City of Toronto Act, 2006.

 

2.  City Council repeal By-law 463-2015, "To Appoint Peter Wallace as City Manager"effective April 4, 2018.

 

3. City Council request the Interim City Manager to ensure that an Acting Deputy City Manager for Cluster A is in place effective April 4, 2018 and until City Council appoints a permanent City Manager.

 

4. City Council appoint Lou Di Gironimo as Interim Deputy City Manager for Cluster B, effective April 5, 2018 and until City Council appoints a new Deputy City Manager for Cluster B.

 

5. City Council repeal By-law 892-2011, "To appoint John W. Livey as a Deputy City Manager" effective April 5, 2018.

 

6.  City Council authorize the City Solicitor to introduce the necessary bills to City Council to give effect to City Council's decision.

Speaker Nunziata advised Council that the provisions of Chapter 27, Council Procedures, need to be waived to permit introduction of Motion MM38.22. A two-thirds vote of Council Members present is required to waive notice.
