City Council on January 31, 2017, adopted the following:  

 

1.  City Council request the Government of Canada to implement the Global Skills Visa for Technology Talent immediately by providing temporary residency to technology talent.

That Councillor Paul Ainslie be permitted to add to the agenda of today's meeting an urgent Motion without Notice concerning:

 

Government of Canada implement the Global Skills Visa for Technology Talent

 

Reason for Urgency:

 

This Motion is urgent, as given recent events, City Council should ask the Federal Government to implement the Global Skills Visa for Technology Talent immediately for the purposes of welcoming the best technology talent to the City of Toronto and Canada.
