The Toronto and East York Community Council:

1.  Authorized the installation of traffic control signals at the intersection of Bayview Avenue and Front Street East.

2.  Authorized all-way stop control at the intersections of Bayview Avenue and Front Street East, Bayview Avenue and Lawren Harris Square (south leg), and Bayview Avenue and Lawren Harris Square (north leg), effective April 6, 2016 until such time as the traffic control signals at the intersections of Bayview Avenue and Front Street East and Bayview Avenue and Lawren Harris Square (north leg)/Lawren Harris Square (south leg) are activated.

 
3.  Enacted the traffic regulations outlined in Appendix "A" – By-Laws to be Enacted, attached to the report (March 16, 2016) from the Director, Transportation Services, Toronto and East York District.

This staff report is about a matter that Community Council has delegated authority to make a final decision, provided that it is not amended so that it varies with City policy or by-laws.

Transportation Services is requesting approval to install traffic control signals at the intersection of Bayview Avenue and Front Street East as well as turn prohibitions and lane designations at the intersection of Bayview Avenue and Lawren Harris Square (north leg)/Lawren Harris Square (south leg). The installation of the proposed traffic control signals and traffic regulations will enhance safety for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists crossing/accessing Bayview Avenue.
