City Council Decision
City Council on February 19 and 20, 2014, adopted the following:
1. City Council amend the Terms of Reference for the Toronto Music Industry Advisory Council, by increasing the composition of the Music Advisory Council by one (1) additional Councillor at-large position (can include a Member of Council who represents a community that has a thriving live music industry) so that the composition is up to 35 members, including two (2) Councillors at-large.
2. City Council appoint Councillor Josh Colle and Councillor Michael Layton to the Toronto Music Industry Advisory Council for a term of office until November 30, 2014.
City Council Decision Advice and Other Information
City Council, by its adoption of Item MM48.30, re-opened Item ED27.2 in order to consider increasing the composition of the Toronto Music Industry Advisory Council. City Council, by its adoption of Economic Development Committee Item ED28.11, also appointed Councillor Gary Crawford as a member of the Economic Development Committee to the Toronto Music Industry Advisory Council.

Committee Recommendations
The Striking Committee recommends that:
1. City Council appoint Councillor Josh Colle to the Toronto Music Industry Advisory Council for a term of office until November 30, 2014.

Summary
City Council at its December 16, 17 and 18, 2013 meeting established a new Toronto Music Industry Advisory Council (ED27.2).
The Toronto Music Industry Advisory Council is composed of up to 34 members, including:
a. Chair of the Economic Development Committee, or designate who shall be a Member of Council;
b. one other Member of the Economic Development Committee;
c. one other Member of Council at-large;
d. Executive Director, Toronto Association of Business Associations, or designate;
e. President and Chief Executive Officer, Tourism Toronto, or designate; and
f. 29 music industry stakeholders collectively representing a range of knowledge, skills and experience.
City Council has requested the Striking Committee to give consideration to recommending a Member of Council who represents a community that has a thriving live music industry.
Members of Council have been canvassed for their interest in being appointed to the Toronto Music Industry Advisory Council as a Member at-large for a term until November 30, 2014.
