City Council Decision

City Council on February 19 and 20, 2014, adopted the following:

 

1.         City Council authorize the extension of alcohol sales and service hours in the City of Toronto, in areas other than the Wards identified in Part 2 below to begin at 7:00 a.m. on February 22 and February 23, 2014 to allow local cafes and restaurants to take advantage of the economic opportunities of this major international event.

 

2.         City Council, at the request of the associated local Ward Councillors, not include the following Wards as part of the extension of alcohol sales and service hours in the City of Toronto:

 

- Ward 9 - York Centre

- Ward 11 – York South – Weston

- Ward 24 - Willowdale

 

3.         City Council not extend the extension of alcohol sales and service hours to any establishments licensed as "nightclubs", license category B97 (Entertainment District).

 

4.         City Council authorize the City Solicitor to introduce a by-law substantially as set out in this Motion.

That City Council delete the recommendations in Member Motion MM48.10 and replace them with the following new recommendations:

 

1.         City Council authorize the extension of alcohol sales and service hours in the City of Toronto, in areas other than the Wards identified in Recommendation 2, to begin at 7:00 a.m. on February 22 and February 23, 2014 to allow local cafes and restaurants to take advantage of the economic opportunities of this major international event.

 

2.         City Council, at the request of the associated local Ward Councillors, not include the following Wards as part of the extension of alcohol sales and service hours in the City of Toronto:

 

- Ward 9 - York Centre

- Ward 11 – York South – Weston

- Ward 24 - Willowdale
