City Council Decision

City Council on April 10 and 11, 2012, adopted the following:

 

1.         City Council request that the Premier of Ontario direct Metrolinx to alter the current plans for the Union-Pearson Air Rail Link to add a minimum of nine additional stops to the two planned at Weston and Bloor, with one of the added stops to be at Eglinton Avenue West to integrate with the Eglinton LRT.  That other stops considered include Liberty Village, the Junction, Carleton Village, Jane Street, Etobicoke North, Woodbine, Humber and  St. Clair Avenue West.

 

2.         City Council reiterates its preference for electrification of the track and affordability of trips, so that the Air Rail Link best serves all Torontonians.

Speaker Nunziata advised Council that the provisions of Chapter 27, Council Procedures, require that Motion MM22.12 be referred to the Executive Committee.  A two-thirds vote of the Council Members present is required to waive referral.

Motion to Adopt Item as Amended (Carried)

Adoption of MM22.12, as amended by Councillor Mihevc, as follows:

 

That City Council amend Recommendation 1 by adding the following words "St. Clair Avenue West" and by deleting the number "eight" and inserting instead the number "nine" so that the recommendation now reads:
