City Council Decision
City Council on October 24 and 25, 2011, adopted the following:
1. City Council receive the report (October 21, 2011) from the City Solicitor.
2. City Council direct that the Confidential Attachment to the report (October 21, 2011) from the City Solicitor remain confidential.
3. City Council adopt the confidential instructions contained in the Confidential Attachment to the motion by Councillor Mihevc.
4. City Council authorize the public release of the Confidential instructions adopted by City Council at the end of the meeting.
The following instructions have been adopted by City Council and are now public:
1. City Council direct the City Solicitor to work toward a settlement that is more consistent with good planning principles.
2. If an acceptable solution cannot be achieved, City Council direct the City Solicitor and an outside planning consultant to continue to oppose the variances.
Confidential Attachment 1 to the report (October 21, 2011) from the City Solicitor remains confidential in its entirety in accordance with the provisions of the City of Toronto Act, 2006, as it is about litigation or potential litigation that affects the City or one of its agencies, boards, and commissions, and contains advice or communications that are subject to solicitor-client privilege.
