City Council Decision
City Council on May 17, 18 and 19, 2011, adopted the following:
1. City Council endorse, in principle, the recommendations contained in Attachment 1 to the report (May 3, 2011) from the General Manager, Economic Development and Culture" on the "Creative Capital Gains: An Action Plan for Toronto" and direct the General Manager of Economic Development and Culture to report back to the Economic Development Committee in the fall 2011 with an implementation plan, including financial impacts, within the context of the core service review.

Committee Recommendations
The Economic Development Committee recommends that:
1. City Council endorse, in principle, the recommendations contained in Attachment 1 to the report (May 3, 2011) from the General Manager, Economic Development and Culture" on the "Creative Capital Gains: An Action Plan for Toronto" and direct the General Manager of Economic Development and Culture to report back to the Economic Development Committee in the fall 2011 with an implementation plan, including financial impacts, within the context of the core service review.

The Economic Development Committee requested the General Manager, Economic Development and Culture, to invite Richard Florida, Author and Director of the Martin Prosperity Institute, to speak to the Economic Development Committee on cultural and economic development investments post global financial crisis in OECD cities and the U.K. National Strategy.

The purpose of this report is to present the report of the Creative Capital Advisory Council entitled "Creative Capital Gains: An Action Plan for Toronto" to the Economic Development Committee.
