Public Notice - 2025 Cycling Infrastructure, Missing Sidewalk Installation and Removal of Permit Parking Space

Decision Body

Infrastructure and Environment Committee

Description

City of Toronto Act, 2006 – Public Notice

Toronto City Council will be considering recommendations to

The Cycling Network Plan: 2025 Cycling Infrastructure & Missing Sidewalk Installation - Second Quarter Update report seeks City Council authority to upgrade bikeway projects identified in the Cycling Network Plan Near-Term Implementation Program (2025-2027). The Cycling Network Plan and the associated Near-Term Implementation Plan adopted by City Council in June 2024 seeks to build on the existing network of cycling routes to connect gaps in the current network, grow the network into new parts of the city, and renew existing parts of the network to improve safety.

Through this report, Transportation Services is seeking authority for the removal of the following on-street parking spaces which currently serve as permit parking: 4 spaces on the north side of Davenport Road east of Christie St, 3 spaces on the south side of Davenport Road east of Christie St, and 4 spaces on the south side of Davenport Road west of Dovercourt Road. This change is expected to happen in summer of 2025 as part of the construction of raised accessible bus-bike platforms which provider safer passage for pedestrians, people cycling and transit users.

The Infrastructure and Environment Committee will make recommendations to City Council, and City Council will decide on the matter at its meeting on July 23, 24 and 25th, 2025.
