PROPOSAL
The City of Toronto
is proposing technical amendments to Zoning By-law 569-2013 to correct and
clarify regulations relating to accessible and bicycle parking requirements for
new development. All
proposed revisions are in keeping with Council's intentions when first approved
by Council, and do not affect the substance of the respective by-laws.
Amendment to Zoning By-law 569-2013
to Update Standards for Accessible Parking and Bicycle Parking
The proposed zoning
by-law amendment will correct an error in the transition clauses related to the
bicycle parking requirements which inadvertently removed previous transition
clauses associated with the establishment of the Payment-in-Lieu of Bicycle
Parking program.
The amendment will also
clarify the accessible parking rates requirement for changes of use or
enlargements, the minimum rates for accessible parking spaces in Table
200.15.10.5, the impact of the Payment-in-lieu of Bicycle Parking program on
other bicycle parking zoning standards, and the acceptability of short-term
bicycle parking spaces being located in stacked
bicycle parking spaces. The recommended amendments are technical in nature and
do not affect the substance of the by-law.
These changes may affect the approval of
building permits, zoning certificates or other applications for a minor
variance, a consent to sever, an amendment to a zoning by-law, an Official Plan
amendment or a Minister's zoning order and any appeals of these matters, as
well as outstanding appeals of Zoning By-law 569-2013.
Detailed information regarding the proposal, including
background information and material may be obtained by contacting Michael Hain,
Program Manager, Transportation Planning, City Planning at 416-392-8698, or by
e-mail at Michael.Hain@toronto.ca.
