City Council Decision

City Council on June 8 and 9, 2021, adopted the following:

 

1.  City Council thank the Province of Ontario for its $7 million to support Ontario's music sector through the Ontario Music Investment Fund, including $500,000 direct grant funding for community music sector development through the Canadian Live Music Association, during the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

2.  City Council request the Province of Ontario to establish a detailed reopening plan for live music, arts, and cultural venues and institutions, which includes consideration of current and future steps of reopening and opportunities for input from local venue operators, industry professionals, public health officials, and other key stakeholders.

During the review of the Order Paper on June 8, 2021, City Council adopted a procedural motion to remove this Item from the Economic and Community Development Committee and bring it forward to City Council for consideration.
