Committee Decision
The Aboriginal Affairs Committee recommends to the Executive Committee that:
1. City Council direct the City Manager, in consultation with the New Credit First Nation, the Toronto Aboriginal Support Services Council and other relevant stakeholders, to report on a work plan and organizational structure required for an Aboriginal office within the City of Toronto.
2. City Council direct the City Manager to seek support from the federal and provincial governments for the establishment of the Aboriginal office.
3. City Council direct the City Manager to report to the September 25, 2017 Aboriginal Affairs Committee meeting.

The Consultant, Equity, Diversity and Human Rights gave a presentation to the Aboriginal Affairs Committee on the Request for an Aboriginal Office at the City of Toronto.
Summary
The Equity, Diversity and Human Rights Aboriginal Affairs Consultant will provide an update on this initiative that outlines findings from other offices and jurisdictions, and will also seek the Committee's feedback for an Aboriginal Affairs Office in the City of Toronto.
